유난히 햇빛이 짙던 그 날, 높이 자란 나무 아래를 산책하니 동그란 빛 구슬들이 바닥에 가득했다. 손바닥을 내밀어 받아보면, 마치 고난을 겪을수록 더 달아지는 포도송이처럼 많은 모서리를 지나 동그랗게 완성된 그 빛이 따뜻하고 부드럽게 손 안에 가득 찼다. 그러자 마치 누군가 양손을 꼭 잡아주는 듯한 안심이 되어, 복잡했던 마음이 조금씩 괜찮아졌다.
삶은 참 다정하다가도, 예고 없이 까다롭고 매정하다. 하지만 그럴때는, 이렇게 아무 조건 없이 손을 맞잡아주는 존재도 있으니 “고난, 그까짓 거. 조금 더 힘내보자.” 라는 생각하곤 한다.
